Hayat TV Is Back After Three Weeks

article thumbnail Hayat TV, whose broadcasting was stopped by the Turksat authorities following a warning by the Security Branch of the Ministry of Interior on the grounds that it was aiding the pro-Kurdish Roj TV, is open again.

Meeting with the Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK), Türksat, the Ministries of Interior and Communication, Hayat TV managed to start broadcasting again after it was taken off the air on July 15.

Çubukçu: Opening the channel was harder

Hayat TV’s Broadcasting Director Aydın Çubukçu told that it had become apparent how this banning was not based on the regulations as soon as they met with the authorities, but it was much harder to open the channel because of the bureaucratic obstacles. He also added that the public support was very helpful in the whole process, too. They are back on the same frequency.

Çubukçu thanks the media institutions, the political parties, the unions, the intellectuals and the artists which stood on their side, when their broadcasting was ended for allegedly aiding the pro-Kurdish Roj TV.

Hatay TV, which broadcasts from the United Kingdom, had started its broadcasting with the slogan of “All Colors of Life” in December 2007.
